First reviewed hi sign about 6 years ago The new location is fantastic! Came for the survivor night (Those girls are doing a great job putting that on...) And the Shady Haze beer was fantastic!

My wife and i stopped in for a couple of beers. The Beers were awsome, prices were good and service was great. We love supporting any small Brewery and especially the Veteran Owned ones, as my wife is a VA Nurse. I would recommend this place and we will be sure to stop in again, when in the area.

Betty was the most fantastic and satisfying conversationalist I've had with a bartender in minute Her ability to balance bartending and keeping guest engaged is a talent. If I could give 7 stars I would!

How Hi Sign Brewing describes its work

Hi Sign Brewing describes itself as an East Austin brewery that does more than pour beer. The company says its space works as a taproom, a coffee bar and a place to spend a workday, with cocktails and wine on hand too. It states it was established in 2017.

The brewery reports that it is veteran-owned and operated. Its website names Mark Phillippe, a Marine Corps veteran, as the founder. It says the name comes from a favorite family spot in Montana, and ties the business to the hard work and hospitality he learned in service.

The taproom pitches itself to remote workers. Its website lists specialty coffee and free high-speed WiFi, and describes the room as suited to morning meetings or a full day at a laptop. The company says dogs and families are welcome, with a beer garden and a covered patio.

Beer brewed on site

The brewery says every beer it pours is brewed on the premises. Its website names Violet the Blueberry Blonde as a flagship, along with the Holly St. Haze IPA and the Eastside Pilsner, plus rotating seasonals. Food comes from trucks parked on site, which the company names as Reunion 64 Pizza and That Burger.

The company describes the taproom as a short trip from the Austin airport, an easy first or last stop for travelers. Homes in Austin have a median build year of 1994, per the American Community Survey (2024). The city averages 37.4 inches of precipitation and 0.2 inches of snow a year, per NOAA normals for 1991 to 2020.

On Google, Hi Sign Brewing holds a 4.7 rating across 545 reviews. Reviewers mention friendly, attentive bartenders most often, along with fresh, cold beer and a good spread of taps. One notes that service slowed during a happy hour rush.

The brewery says its aim is to make the freshest beer it can from top ingredients, as a reward for people who drink craft beer.
